Clinical Psychologist

Tommy completed a Master of Clinical Psychology, Master of Arts (Psychology), Graduate Certificate in Arts (Psychology), and a Bachelor of Defence Studies, at Massey University

Tommy was born and raised in New Zealand, where he completed a Master of Clinical Psychology, Master of Arts (Psychology), Graduate Certificate in Arts (Psychology), and a Bachelor of Defence Studies, at Massey University. Prior to moving to Australia in February 2019 he worked in a public health setting, at the Child Adolescent and Family Service of Hawkes Bay Hospital, providing psychological assessment and therapy to children, adolescents and adults. He then provided therapy in private practice settings in Newcastle and the Central Coast for seven years, working with adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of mental health conditions. He proudly joined the Living Well Psychology team in 2026, where he provides therapy to adult clients from eighteen years of age.


Tommy enjoys working with a diverse range of adult clients overcoming various life stresses and challenges. He takes a balanced, client-focussed, and nonjudgemental approach, acknowledging that we all have vulnerabilities and strengths. He utilises evidence-based treatment models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), tailoring therapy to meet client needs. In addition to working with clients, he continues to engage in regular professional supervision and professional development.


Tommy served as a commander in the full-time New Zealand Army for ten years, followed by five years in the NZ Army reserve. During his military career he fulfilled various leadership roles in New Zealand, Afghanistan and Egypt. He gained experience in command and leadership, problem solving and planning, peacekeeping, as well as counselling and mentoring soldiers from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds.


Tommy has full registration as a Clinical Psychologist (PSY0002261055) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). He is registered to provide Clinical Psychology services through Medicare and to military veterans (Medicare Provider No: 5643113Y).


Tommy is passionate about the outdoors, boating, family, and working with clients towards their meaningful life.
